Brian Berrebbi and I did a radio spot for Expedia that was a lot of fun in its weirdness.
In it, I play a traveler who receives a wake-up call from an Expedia spokesperson played by Brian. This was all actually recorded in a hotel room, with Brian calling me on the hotel phone. Most of what was done was improvised and a transcript of the unused sections had things like this gem:
Caller Would you feed my – would you feed my dog – would you give my dog his medicine? Tell you what? I did you a favor, would you do me a favor and just give my dog his medicine?
Guest He’s not – I don’t – he’s not here.
Caller Well, um he’s on his way. I took one of your socks and gave him your scent.
Guest He’s a bloodhound?
Caller Um he’s a coyote.
Guest Oh well, I’m sorry to hear that.
Caller You’re sorry? I own a coyote. That’s awesome.
Guest It’s dangerous, isn’t it?
Caller Ask me if he bites.
Guest Does he bite?
Caller No, but I do, and he hates it.
Guest And I’m going to hang up on you.
Caller Wait, wait, don’t go. Send help.
